Prince Harry and his girlfriend Chelsy Davy leave after attending a thanksgiving service at the Army Garrison Church in Windsor, England, after Harry received a campaign medal for serving in Afghanistan, Monday.

The young, red-haired royal struggled to contain a smile as his aunt, Princess Anne, pinned the Operational Service Medal for Afghanistan to his desert fatigues in a ceremony at the Combermere Barracks in Windsor, west of London.

Harry was among 170 members of his unit, the Household Cavalry Regiment, who were decorated Monday for their service in Afghanistan as friends and family looked on.

The 23-year-old prince's deployment was cut short earlier this year after news of his mission became public.

But he served about 10 weeks - enough to meet the four-week minimum required to receive the medal.

Harry's girlfriend, Chelsy Davy, and his older brother, Prince William, both watched as Harry received his medal.

Led by a marching band, Harry and his comrades then marched across Windsor from their barracks to a church for a thanksgiving service.

There should be no media what so ever about Harry being in the army. How else do you think they found out he was there. They might not of known when he was there but because of the media(mostly britian's) they knew that he would be there eventually. All they had to do was keep a look out for him.

When it comes right down to it, no nobility, or no rich folk, are found on the front lines. Of course the British media exposed this, as they wanted the prince home, safe from the fray. Let the regular blokes take the heat. In the end, the lot of it is a charade, nothing more, even if it made for good fantasy. In so many ways, though, this was propaganda stuff, war romanticized. The poor kid was used, and he may even have gotten to believe his own PR...amazing how they can pull princes out of war zones, while the common folk get to stay behind...

PR? You think this is PR when members of the royal family have fought in every single war England's ever been in? Remember Harry only left when the press over here found out he was fighting and wrote about it. They pulled him because he was a target...therefore a danger to everyone around him. At least he's fighting in the area of the world that might actually have terrorists. Why are you complaining?
