CALGARY - Nick Skelton finished with just one fault over two rounds to win his fourth CN International Grand Prix championship Sunday at Spruce Meadows.

The British rider won the $1 million prize, finishing in 81.443 seconds. Jos Lansik of Belgium finished second with two faults in 83.995 seconds while American Richard Spooner was third.

"This is the greatest CN International for me. I think Arko has always been a special horse for me," said Skelton of his winning horse.

It was a disappointing day for Olympic gold medallist Eric Lamaze. The Schomberg, Ont., native faulted four times and had to settle for a fifth place finish.

"Yeah, it hurts a little bit but I'm so thrilled with the last month. I guess we just ran out of luck," said Lamaze.

With the loss, Lamaze lost $775,000 in bonus money he would have earned by winning a third leg of the CN Precision Series.
