It is cool that it has been done. But seriously is there any real application for this except for a bunch of nerds getting excited?

I will concede the point that this will appeal more to the "hey guess what I got linux to run on?" crowd.

Having a full operating system on an extremely portable form factor has a number of interesting possible uses. A busy system administrator could use their iPhone to connect to and administer machines remotely, without even having to open their laptop. Alternatively, music loving geeks who dislike DRM will be able to use linux software to play DRM free MP3's.

Ian, just a foot note that there are two Apps to achieve this without running a Linux kernel. Mocha VNC and TouchTerm which is a SSH client for the Admin on the go.
