SAINT JOHN, N.B. - Patience and persistence paid off on Saturday morning for some Elton John fans trying to buy tickets to his upcoming show in Saint John, N.B.

Fans who lined up at the box office at 8 a.m. on Saturday reported they waited about five hours to get tickets, which range from $109 and $163 each, after taxes.

Tickets for another Elton John concert in Moncton, N.B., sold out within an hour on Saturday morning and prompted many fans to turn to Saint John to try to get tickets.

Meanwhile, a Saint John radio station received a steady number of calls from people frustrated they weren't able to buy tickets online after the web page was overloaded by users.

However the arena's general manager said early Saturday afternoon that tickets - which went on sale at 10 a.m. - are still available.

John will perform on Sept. 30 at Saint John's Harbour Station as part of his first-ever tour of Atlantic Canada, which includes dates in Halifax and St. John's, N.L.
