Published Tuesday October 7th, 2008

PALERMO, Sicily - Palermo has extended coach Davide Ballardini's contract for two years through June 2011 following a win over Juventus at the weekend.
The 2-1 victory was Palermo's first in Turin in 47 years and it gave the team 12 points, one less than league leaders Lazio, Udinese and Inter Milan.
Ballardini was hired one round into this season after Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini fired Stefano Colantuono.
Colantuono was the 27th coach that Zamparini has fired as president of Palermo and his former club Venezia.
