Youth questioned after abandoned car struck by train east of Regina

BALGONIE, Sask. - Police are questioning a young man after a car was struck by train after it was left on tracks east of Regina.

The freight train hit the car and travelled for another kilometre before it came to a stop.

RCMP found no one was in the destroyed car.

Police used tracking dogs, and they led them to Balgonie, where they talked to a youth.

No charges have been laid.

There was minor damage to the train, which did not derail.
