TORONTO - Some of the most active companies traded Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:
Toronto Stock Exchange (8,637.29 up 326.74 points):
Oilexco Inc. (TSX:OIL). Oil and gas. Up 20 cents, or 28.99 per cent, to 89 cents on 9,607,563 shares. The firm said last week it received a bridge loan but will only have enough cash until mid-2009.
Ivernia Inc. (TSX:IVW). Miner. Down half a cent, or 7.69 per cent, to six cents on 6,494,732 shares. Ivernia's subsidiary Magellan Metals Pty Ltd., will pay around $7.45 million towards cleanup activities at Esperance in Western Australia.
Yamana Gold Inc. (TSX:YRI). Miner. Down half a cent, or 7.69 per cent, to six cents on 6,494,732 shares. The Toronto-based gold producer reported last week it secured about US$200 million of available cash and credit, bringing its total available cash and credit to about US$500 million.
Bank of Montreal (TSX:BMO). Financial. Up $1.37, or 4.64 per cent, to $30.88 on 5,469,163 shares.
Teck Cominco Ltd. (TSX:TCK.B). Miner. Up 79 cents, or 15.71 per cent, to $5.82 on 5,080,800 shares. The base metals sector on the TSX was one of the top advancers, rising 10.09 per cent.
BCE Inc. (TSX:BCE). Communications and media. Down seven cents, or 0.30 per cent, to $23.18 on 4,644,590 shares.
TSX Venture Exchange (742.99 up 45.99 points):
Amerix Precious Metals Corp. (TSXV:APM). Miner. Up half a cent, or 33.33 per cent, to two cents on 2,072,000 shares.
East Asia Minerals Corp. (TSXV:EAS). Miner. Unchanged at 15 cents on 1,767,144 shares.
Companies reporting major news:
Angoss Software Corp. (TSXV:ANC). Data mining and predictive analytics software provider. Up half a cent, or 25 per cent, to 25 cents on 5,000 shares as it acquired Dthree Inc., a Toronto-based marketing software company for nearly $2.2 million.
Bow Valley Energy Ltd. (TSX:BVX). Up eight cents, or 55.17 per cent, to 22.5 cents on 801,184 shares as it sold its two-thirds interest in a British North Sea natural gas block for US$30 million.
CV Technologies Inc. (TSX:CVQ). Drug maker. Down 3.5 cents, or 12.96 per cent, to 23.5 cents on 199,950 shares as the maker of the Cold-FX flu remedy delayed the filing of its annual financial statements.
