SYDNEY, N.S. - Donald Marshall Jr. is free on bail after undergoing a 30-day psychiatric evaluation.

He is charged with assaulting his wife and threatening her former husband in Membertou, N.S., last month.

Marshall's lawyer, Mike Kuna, says his client has agreed to a number of bail conditions, including orders to remain in the province, refrain from consuming alcohol and to keep taking the drugs prescribed to him.

As well, Marshall must refrain from having any contact with one of the alleged victims.

Marshall is to return to court to enter a plea June 19.

He came to national attention after spending 11 years in prison for a murder he did not commit.
