Medical emergency may have led to car crash that killed N.S. hockey volunteer

SPRINGVILLE, N.S. - A single vehicle accident has taken the life of a well known Nova Scotia hockey coach in Springville.

RCMP say Bob Kennaley died in the accident on the Thursday. The 73-year-old was heavily involved in minor hockey for many years, volunteering at numerous tournaments and games.

Kennaley had also been the public address announcer for the Pictou County Weeks Junior A Crushers since their inception in 2004.

RCMP are looking into the possibility a medical emergency may have contributed to his death prior to the crash.

An autopsy has been ordered by the medical officer's office.
