PEACE RIVER, Alta. - The sentencing of Thomas Svekla for sexual assault has been put off for a week.

Svekla is now to be sentenced next Friday in Edmonton on charges that date back to 2005.

He was found guilty last month in Peace River of sexually assaulting a woman from High Level, Alta.

During the trial the victim testified that she thought she was going to die during the attack.

Svekla is currently serving a life sentence after he was convicted in June of second-degree murder in the death of Theresa Innes, 36.
