This luna moth fascinated me. I was at the front door of my house and saw this huge moth flittering around the street lamp out front. Then I saw it dive to the asphalt below and actually heard a thud. I grabbed my camera and slippers and made my way outside. It seemed no worse for wear. I was a little apprehensive getting that close – it was huge. There is one picture where I have my hand in the frame for reference. Had it chosen that moment to take flight there would have been an even more impressive sighting in Hampton: Crazy lady in her housecoat running for her life!
