HALIFAX, N.S. - A French yacht that had two people on board has been found empty and floating in the middle of the Atlantic.
A spokeswoman for the Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre in Halifax says a Belgian yacht spotted the 10-metre L'Actuel on Sunday, but nobody was on board. Jeri Grychowski says the vessel was about 400 kilometres west of the Azores.
The vessel departed St-Pierre-Miquelon headed for Le Havre, France almost four weeks ago.
The daughter of the captain said she last heard from the vessel on May 24 from somewhere in the mid-Atlantic.
The two on board are both French nationals whose names have not been released.
