  • NICHOLSON, JENNIE Jennie Nicholson of North Lake, New Brunswick at her home Thursday, October 17, 2002. Survived by children, Muriel Carr and Roland (Donna) Nicholson; sister, Ethel (Walter) Stockford; grandchildren, Elaine (Carr) Garnet, Gordon Carr, Kenneth Carr, Susan Carr, Debbie (Carr), Cheryln (Nicholson) Kidney, Christine (Nicholson) Furrow; 11 great grandchildren; two great grandchildren. Predeceased by great grandchild, Amada Carr. Also by sisters, Stella Griffin and Elsie Anderson and brothers, Milo Anderson and Trevor Anderson. Resting at The Culberson Funeral Home, 188 Connell Street, Woodstock, N.B. (325-1130). Visitation on Sunday, October 20, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral to be held on Monday October 21, 2002 at 11:00 am from the Culberson Funeral Chapel. Interment to follow at St. Paul's Cemetery, Kirkland.

  • FRIOLET, J. ANTONIN J. Antonin Friolet, born Bas Caraquet, NB, May 29, 1918, passed away unexpectedly October 16, 2002. Antonin (Tony) began his professional life as an educator but joined the RCAF in 1941.Though trained as a pilot, he served as bureau chief for military / public relations in which capacity he encountered leading figures of government and cinema. It was then he wrote "Wings of Glory / Gloire". In civilian life, his many positions included: comptroller at N.B.E.P.C., administrator of Kent County, Bathurst District, Medical Health Officer, executive assistant to various members of the provincial government and provincial interpreter / translator. Antonin also published two books: "Caraquet, Village au Soleil and Victor, Fils de Provence". He was predeceased by his first wife, Doris (Greening) and his daughter, Rita. He is survived by his wife, Marie Gabrielle Durand-Foxonet (Bas Caraquet), two daughters, Carole Linda Raymond (Quispamsis) and Patricia Spencer, wife to Joseph (Saint John), five grandchildren: Brent Raymond (San Francisco), Curtis Raymond (Bermuda), Rita Millett (Saint John), Bryan Raymond (Saint John) and Michelle Raymond (Fredericton). He is also survived by several by four sisters, Hedwidge (late Eymard Hache) of St. Sauveur, Gemma (late Ovilla Brousseau) of Quebec, Edmonde (Adrien Gagnon) of Madawaska , Maine, Jeanine (Gilles Gallien) of St-Bruno, Que, three brothers, Gerard (Amanda Lanteigne), Louis-Philippe (Diana Lanteigne) and Fortunat (Valerie Arseneau) all of Bas Caraque, one adopted brother, William (Antonine Morais) of Laval, Que, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will take place Monday, October 21 at four o'clock at Saint Paul's Roman Catholic Church of Bas Caraquet, resting at the parlor of church Saint Paul of Bas Caraquet, where visits will occur Sunday, October 20 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Monday, October 21 from 2 p.m. till departure for funeral at 4 p.m. Donations to the Canadian Institute for the Blind or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.   • COREY, DR. MARGARET JEAN Dr. Margaret Jean Corey of Nackawic, passed away October 18, 2002 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. born at Nackawic on January 11, 1939, she was a daughter of Evelyn (MacDonald) Corey and the late Clifford Corey. Dr. Corey is survived by her mother of Nackawic; a sister Marion Kirkpatrick (Howard), Woodstock; a brother David Corey (Edna), Nackawic; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Resting at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, with visiting hours Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the Nackawic Wesleyan Church on Monday, October 21, 2002 at 2 p.m. Rev. Carl and Evelyn Brewer officiating. Interment in Otis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations to Nackawic Wesleyan Church, Otis Cemetery or charity of the donors choice.

  • WALLS, LEILA D. Leila D. Walls (nee Till) passed away peacefull in Calgary, Alberta on October 12, 2002 at the age of 89. Leila was born in (St. Mary's Ferry) Fredericton, New Brunswick on November 15, 1912, the daughter of Ethel P. Till (nee Chase) and George Till, where she resided for 83 years. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn E.E. Plume (son-in-law Forrest) and son G.W. Clair Walls (daughter-in-law Marie), all of Calgary; four grandchildren, Brent, Michelle, Tina (David) of Calgary, and Mark (Tammy) of Edson, AB; three great grandchildren, Melissa, Keith and Stephanie of Calgary. Leila was predeceased by her son Richard (at birth), her husband Huntley H. Walls (June 1989) and her brother Wilfred Till. She was a member of Devon Park Baptist Church and an active participant for many years in various groups affiliated with the church. Cremation in Calgary followed by a private memorial service. Burial of the urn with graveside prayers in Fredericton, New Brunswick in Spring 2003. Many thanks to Dr. Van Olm and all the staff at Chinook Care Centre for their assistance and kindness.
