  • Edwina I. Sheppard Edwina Isabell Sheppard, 70, of Marx Farm Road, Salisbury West passed away Monday June 3, 2002 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Saint John she was a daughter of the late Ronald and Mary (Rogers) Worden. A homemaker she was also a former employee of the T. Eaton Co. , attended St. John's Anglican Church, Salisbury and was a member of the L.O.B.A. Survived by her husband of 51 years, Edward; daughters, Florence Goddard (Sterling) of Salisbury West, Jane Duncan (Dwight) of Killams Mills, Norma Jean Demont (Dana) of Harewood; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sisters, Helen Garnett of Me, Kathleen Cady of Mass.; brother, Ronald Worden of Me.; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister Ruthie Stone. Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (3724800) with visiting hours Tuesday June 4 from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from St. John's Anglican Church , Salisbury with Rev. Ellis Jagoe officiating. Interment at Pine Hill Cemetery, Salisbury.   • Samuel F. Allanach Samuel F. Allanach, 82 years, of Grandview Drive, Moncton passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday June 2, 2002. Born in Campbellton, N.B.,he was the son of the late Samuel and Christina (MacPherson) Allanach. Sam will be sadly missed by his wife of 56 years, Eileen (Atkinson) Allanach; children Diane (Kim) DeWare, Bruce (Paulette), Shirley (Ron) Hicks, Karen (Terry) Teed and Bill; grandchildren Tracey (Jacques Pinet) DeWare, Jennifer (Steven) Kikkert, Tyler and Adam Hicks, Allyson and Laura Teed, Jessica and Sam Allanach; great grandchildren Harrison and Benjamin Griffin; sister Patsy Johnson of Victoria BC; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Sam was predeceased by brothers Earle, Mac and Bill and sisters Bertha, Jessie, Thelma and Doreen. Sam had retired from the CNR as Atlantic Regional Welding Supervisor after 39 years of service. He was a member of St. John's United Church and was a veteran of the Second World War serving with the Royal Canadian Navy in Canada and overseas.   • Margaret M. Hay MIRAMICHI, NB - Mrs. Margaret M. Hay, 86 of Brookfield Avenue, Miramichi, NB, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on June 2, 2002. Born in Chatham, NB, daughter of the late Donald Clancy and Mary Margaret Duplessie; she was a homemaker and attended the Roman Catholic Church. She is survived by daughters, Mrs Gena Skidd (David) of Miramichi, Mrs Nancy Andow (Neil) of Winnipeg, MB; son Arthur Hay (Christine) of Dartmouth, NS; sister Mrs Viola Clancy (George) of Miramichi; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Herbert Hay,; sisters, Emeline, Bernice Evelyn; brother Rupert. Resting at Maher's Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 4, 2002 with visiting from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm.   • Edouard G. (Eddie) Allain Edouard G. (Eddie) Allain, 85, ofFoyer Cote D'or, Cocagne and formerly of Bouctouche, NB passed away at Dr. Georges L-Dumont Hospital, Moncton, NB on Monday June 3, 2002 after a lengthy illness. Born March 19, 1917 in Bouctouche he was the son of the late Gilbert Allain and Mélina Richard. He was a labourer. He attended Saint-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche. He is survived by three sisters, Emerise Allain, Alma Allain, Lina Allain all of Bouctouche; two brothers, Lionel of Bouctouche, Gérard of Sainte-Anne de Kent; one aunt, Lorraine Allain of Bouctouche; several nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by one sister Alice (2001); four brothers, Aurèle (1997), Léonard (1998), Calixte (2002), Joseph at age 7. Resting at Maillet Funeral Home Ltd., Bouctouche with visiting hours Tuesday, June 4 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm and Wednesday 2:00 - 3:45pm.   • Adolphe Brine SACKVILLE, NB - The death of Adolphe Brine, age 78, of Sackville occured suddenly at the Sackville Memorial Hospitla on Saturday, June 1, 2002. Born in Sackville he was a son of the late Damien and Annie (Doiron) Brine. Adolphe was a veteran serving in the Canadian Army during World War II in Europe and in Korea. During his working years, he worked at Fawcett Foundry as a moulder. He was an avid bingo player. Adolphe will be sadly missed by two sisters, Hazel Hicks, Sackville, Marceline (Carmel) Briggs, Truro; special friends, Danny and Linda Webb, Sackville; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Willie, Eddie, Alphie, Edgar, and John; sisters, Edna, Ida, Lena, and Rita. The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) with visitation Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, June 3, 2002 at 11am. Burial in the St. Vincent's/Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Cemetery.   • Madeleine F. Garland CALGARY, AB - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and friend, Madeleine Florence (Gourley) Garland, age 71, on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 surrounded by her family, at the Agape Manor Hospice in Calgary, after a short, courageous battle with cancer. Born in River Glade, NB on March 9, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Winnifred (Eastwick) Gourley. She leaves to mourn her partner of 52 years, Neil Garland, Calgary; her daughters, Darlene (Ward) Corey of Havelock, NB and Marlene (Anthony) Brown of Norton, NB; her sons, Dennis, Derrick (Sue), Kelly (Roxanne) all of Calgary and Mark of Saint John, NB; a sister, Marguerite (Helmar) Snyder of Ottawa, ON; andRiver Glade, NB; her precious grandchildren, Shelley, Shawni, Beth, Brenda, Belinda, Alex, Samantha, Crystal, Derrick; stepgrandchildren, Ashley, Nathaniel, James and Ronald; and great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Brandon, Curtis, Christopher and Haley; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Caldon and Harry Jr. Leinie resided in Havelock, NB for many years where she was a member of St. Paul's Anglican Church and mothered many foster children in addition to her own family. After a period in Saint John, they moved to Calgary, where she spent the past 20 years as a Nurses' Aide at Sarcee (Carewest) Centre, retiring in December, 2000. She was kind, selfless and devoted to her family and a friend to all. Her family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful caregivers who touched Leinie's life. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Foster's Funeral Home. At Leinie's request, there will not be a funeral service in Calgary; however, the family will receive visitors at Armstrong's Funeral Home, Petitcodiac, NB on Friday, June 7, from 7 to 9pm. A celebration of her life will be held at Armstrong's Funeral Home on Saturday, June 8, at 1pm. Burial to take place at Maplewood Cemetery in Petitcodiac. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a memorial of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family. "A loving mother, A grandmother kind With beautiful memories left behind Her cheerful smile and loving face No one can ever take her place" In living memory, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Park in Calgary.

  • Reginald Raymond Sinclair 1930-2002 HALIFAX, NS - Passed away at the QE II Hospital, Halifax, NS on June 1, 2002. Reg was retired R.C.A.F. and had served two postings at CFB Moncton. He was currently residing in Maitland, NS. He is survived by wife, Maxine and her eight children; also, four children from his first marriage to the late Vickey Sinclair, Judy Bourque, Shediac River, NB, Linda Sinclair, Bill Sinclair and Reg Sinclair, Jr., all of Edmonton , AB; as well as a sister, Phyllis Jezesky and a brother, Harold Sinclair, both of Edmonton, AB. In accordance with Reg's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no memorial service. Interment in the family lot at Port Dufferin, NS.
