Birmingham City boot boy given keys to Mercedes by team star Kapo

LONDON - A football trainee for the Birmingham City soccer team asked for a pair of shoes from midfielder Olivier Kapo to keep as a souvenir.

Kapo gave him a Mercedes instead. Boot boy James McPike was handed the keys to Kapo's Mercedes after Kapo told him that he had taken his shoes home with him, a team source told London's Daily Mail.

McPike told Kapo he would struggle to afford insurance on the C$58,496 car, so Kapo drove the 20-year-old to his home, handed him the spare keys and offered to pay for a year's insurance.

Kapo won't have to worry about making his way around: he also has a Porsche and a Hummer.
