BRIDGEWATER, N.S. - RCMP have charged a truck driver involved in a fatal accident in Newellton, N.S., with failing to do a mandatory inspection.
A flatbed trailer unhooked itself from a transport truck on June 9 and collided with a minivan killing a Clarke's Harbour, N.S., woman.
Const. Rolland Lavoie says there was no evidence that a pre-trip inspection was done to confirm the trailer was properly connected.
The charge falls under the Motor Vehicle Act.
