TORONTO - The TSX Venture Exchange closed at 846.69, up 49.67 points. The volume at 4 p.m. was at 144.43 million shares.

Among the most active companies, Gold Wheaton Gold Corp. (TSXV:GLW) rose a penny to 26.5 cents, MacDonald Mines Exploration Ltd. (TSXV:BMK) 1.5 cents to 6.5 cents; Forest Gate Resources (TSXV:FGT) fell half a cent to one penny, Global Development Resources (TSXV:GDV.U) two cents to two cents.
