N.S. International Air Show to move to Yarmouth from Halifax

HALIFAX, N.S. - Officials have confirmed that this year's Nova Scotia International Air Show is moving to Yarmouth from Halifax.

Show director Colin Stephenson says the long-running event has faced a number of challenges over the last 10 years in Halifax, including the loss of 12 Wing Shearwater as host.

Last year, a hurricane washed out all but 30 minutes of performing time.

Stephenson says Yarmouth Airport gives organizers a virtually uninterrupted air space and large facility.

This year's show will take place Sept. 12-13 and will mark the 100th anniversary of powered flight in Canada.
