
Nova Scotia man charged with attempted murder, arson and uttering threats

MONASTERY, N.S. - A Nova Scotia man is facing a charge of attempted murder after police responded to a call for help from a residence in Monastery.
When officers arrived at the scene, the house was on fire and the lone occupant had escaped unharmed.
Police later arrested 36-year-old James Bernard DeCoste of nearby Antigonish.
DeCoste has been charged with attempted murder, arson, uttering threats and production of a controlled substance.
DeCoste was arraigned on the charges today in provincial court in Antigonish.
He is to return to court Monday.
