LAVAL, Que. - Mercator Transport Group Corp. (TSXV:GMT), a Quebec-based international trucking and logistics company, is acquiring a small freight company in Ghana in an all-stock deal.

The acquisition of Toti Berg Freight Services Ltd. is being made through a subsidiary, Mercator Ghana Ltd.

Toti will receive $100,000 in the form of "250,000 common shares of the share capital of Mercator Transport at a unit price of 40 cents per share."

During the year ended Dec. 31, 2008, Toti Berg generated sales of $226,000, up from $209,000 in 2007 and net profits of $5,400, down from $7,300 in 2007.

Mercator specializes in transport brokerage, international logistics and distribution. The company has offices in Montreal, Las Vegas and Lyon, France.

Stock in the company last traded Oct. 30 at 20 cents a share.
