TORONTO - Midfielder Amado Guevara is among eight players Toronto FC has left unprotected for Wednesday's Major League Soccer expansion draft.

The former MLS most valuable player joins two-time league MVP Carl Robinson, Canadian international Ali Gerba, back-up goalkeeper Brian Edwards and Argentine Pablo Vitti on a list of Toronto FC players the Philadelphia Union can select from as the club begins to build its roster.

The Union begins play next season and each current MLS team can only lose one player in the draft.

Toronto FC defenders Lesly Fellinga and Nick Garcia and midfielder Gabe Gala were also left unprotected.

Nana Attakora, Chad Barrett, Jim Brennan, Sam Cronin, Julian de Guzman, Dwayne De Rosario, Emmanuel Gomez, Amadou Sanyang, Adrian Serioux, O'Brian White and Marvell Wynne were protected by Toronto FC and cannot be selected.

Striker Fuad Ibrahim and goalkeeper Stefan Frei are also protected because they are classified under the league's Generation Adidas designation.
