Departing MP calls N.L. premier a dictator, provincial cabinet "gutless"

ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - Federal Fisheries Minister Loyola Hearn may be leaving politics, but he's not going quietly.

The outspoken Newfoundland politician has confirmed he won't reoffer once the election is called, likely this weekend.

As he heads for the door Hearn isn't mincing words about the provincial government of Premier Danny Williams who has vowed to campaign against his federal Conservative counterparts for breaking promises regarding federal funding.

Hearn charges the province is living in a dictatorship, and that collectively the provincial cabinet doesn't have the "guts of a caplin" for kowtowing to the premier.

Hearn calls Williams "Anything But Conservative" campaign, terrible but serious stuff.

He says he's been told potential candidates have actually been threatened.
