
Five Canadian writers shortlisted for $10,000 Danuta Gleed Award

The Writers' Union of Canada has announced a short list of five writers for the $10,000 Danuta Gleed Literary Award for short fiction.
They are: Halifax author Ian Colford for "Evidence," Toronto writer Pasha Malla for "The Withdrawal Method," Hamilton-born Rebecca Rosenblum for "Once," Ottawa-born Ahmad Saidullah for "Happiness and other Disorders" and B.C.-based writer Betsy Trumpener for "The Butcher of Penetang."
The two runners up will receive $500 each when the winners are announced in Calgary May 23.
