Dirt bike crash in eastern N.L. sends man to hospital in critical condition

HOLYROOD, N.L. - A man was being treated for massive head injuries after crashing a dirt bike in eastern Newfoundland on Tuesday.

The rider, in his 30s, lost control of the bike on a gravel road in the Holyrood area, southwest of St. John's.

He was thrown from the bike and crashed into trees.

Police said the rider was wearing a helmet at the time.

He taken to hospital and listed in critical condition.
