Belgian Jurgen Roelandts wins fith stage in Poland

WARSAW, Poland - Jurgen Roelandts of Belgium won the fifth stage of the Tour de Pologne on Thursday, while Jose Joaquin Rojas Gil of Spain grabbed the overall lead.

Roelandts, who rides for Silence Lotto, won the 249.7-kilometre stage from Naleczow to Rzeszow in five hours, 18 minutes and 59 seconds. Rojas Gil was second, and Steven de Jongh of the Netherlands was third.

With his second place finish on Thursday, Rojas Gil took over the yellow jersey from Australian Allan Davis. The Caisse d'Epargne rider leads the tour two stages from the finish with a time of 16 hours and 51 seconds. Dane Lars Ytting Bak of CSC sits two seconds back, and Quick Step Innergetic's de Jongh is five seconds off the lead.

The race ends Saturday.
