LAS VEGAS - Ylon Schwartz has been eliminated from the World Series of Poker in fourth place after trying to bluff Peter Eastgate on the river when Eastgate hit a full house.
All the cards were on the table when Schwartz made his move just before midnight on Sunday. With a board showing two kings, an eight, five and a deuce, Schwartz put his hands to his face when he realized that Eastgate had beaten him with a full house, fives over kings.
The pot gave Eastgate 64.9 million chips and a 12 million-chip lead over Ivan Demidov. Dennis Phillips was third in chips with 19.5 million.
Schwartz, who won $3.78 million for fourth place, was the first player to leave after Canadian Scott Montgomery of Perth, Ont., was eliminated. He won $3,096,768 for fifth place.
