A glance at what's new at Canadian ski resorts this season:
Whistler-Blackcomb, B.C. - Peak-to-peak gondola opens Dec. 12, carrying skiers and snowboarders 4.4 kilometres between the two mountains in 11 minutes.
Grouse Mountain, B.C. - Two new quad chairlifts.
Cypress Mountain, B.C. - A gladed run called the Shore Glades passes through forests and opens up with panoramic views of Vancouver.
Revelstoke Mountain Resort, B.C. - The hotel and high-speed quad will open at end of December, later than first scheduled. The new resort has doubled its terrain compared with last season to more than 1,200 hectares.
Panorama, B.C. - The new terrain park is designed to allow skiers and snowboarders to improve their skills on rails, walls, boxes and the halfpipe. A permanent "big air" jump will be built at the base of the park.
Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, B.C. - More than 12 hectares of gladed skiing.
Horseshoe Resort, Ont. - The terrain park has doubled in size.
Batawa Ski Hill, Ont. - New quad chairlift instead of old T-bar system.
Uplands Ski Centre, Ont. - The hill's first terrain park opens.
Mont Saint-Sauveur, Que. - Invested more than $4.5 million in upgrades, including a quad chairlift to replace the Nordique triple chair.
Le Massif, Que. - More than 10 hectares of new hors piste skiing runs, four new glade runs, a relocated and upgraded terrain park.
Poley Mountain, N.B. - A half-dozen new trails with the addition of the new triple chair lift. Removing the T-bar lift has made room for a mogul run.
Marble Mountain, Corner Brook, N.L. - Two new runs: one glade, one novice. The terrain park has doubled in size, and there is a new conveyor lift on the beginner hill.
