WOODSTOCK, Ont. - Media mogul Ted Rogers will be in Woodstock, Ont., Saturday to deliver a $1 million donation to the Woodstock Hospital Foundation.

It's a deeply personal gift in honour of his late mother, Velma Melissa Taylor, and the community where she was raised.

The donation from the president and CEO of Rogers Communications Ltd. (TSX:RCI.B) will fund an automated medication system in the hospital.

A new wing named after Rogers' mother will house a pharmacy department and a chemotherapy suite.

The Velma Melissa Taylor wing will also have a diabetes education centre on the lower level in addition to acute care beds.

Construction of the new wing is to begin by the end of the year.
